Camping Fishing Bedroom Toni Roberts, Design Dazzle
This room was designed several years ago for a darling 7 year old boy. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping. The wood paneling was purchased at Lowes - nothing was done to the paneling besides installing it. I purchased plain fabric curtains at Target and had a seamstress add the red flannel to make it a camping look. I also had her make a "tent" out of the extra fabric to place under the bunkbed. Tree branches were used as curtain rods and the "brackets" to hold up the shelves. A fake pine tree was placed in the corner. The pine tree has pine cones on it. I wrapped a strand of firefly lights around the tree and on the shelf. These lights recreate real flashing fireflies!! The light-up moon is a fun feature to turn on at night. So just image sleeping in your camping room at night... the fireflies are lit up and your sleeping under a full moon : ) The mom of the little boy had purchased some of the camping theme items before I started on the room - they looked fantastic in the room. Since this room was designed several years ago - not a lot of items are available. Here is a list of some fishing/camping theme items to help you get started on decorating a totally fun room.
