Artist of the Month January 2009  Surfaces with Paint I painted this fairytale mural for a baby girl's room who was only a few months old at the time. Her parents shared their ideas and I was able to bring it all together into one mural. They specifically wanted a castle on a hilltop, a white unicorn, fairies, flowers, and a beautiful colorful sky. It took me 3 days to complete it and everyone was pleased. My passion is to paint murals for nurseries and children's rooms. It brings me so much joy when a child walks into their room for the first time and see one of my murals and they just smile and stare. I LOVE to paint, but that makes it even more fulfilling and exciting. I started Surfaces with Paint in 2002 and have worked in over 100 homes in the New York area. I specialize in hand painted wall murals (especially children's rooms), faux paint and plaster finishes, custom stenciling, and color consultations. I work mainly within Westchester & Putnam County, NY. I am also a mother of 3 small children under the age of 4. I run an online business assistance company called DPK Virtual Assistant Services.
