 Pirate Desk and Chair OmGurl Designs Got a pirate in your life? I took an antique school desk and breathed new life into it. I painted a pirate ship on the seat of the chair with dark seas behind it. On the back slats I painted "pirate property" and "keep out". Two pirate swords adorn the back of the chair. The best part is the writing portion of the desk. I took a pirate map and aged it and added a compass, an eye patch, the steering wheel and a hardwood floor background. A lot of work went into this - I polyurethaned this desk three times so it will withstand lots of bangs and bruises throughout the years. Non-toxic acrylic paints and polyurethane was used.
